Things to do while visiting Seoul in the winter

1.     Visit Namsan Seoul Tower at Night

Namsan Seoul Tower is one of Seoul’s most famous and popular attraction. The view from the top captures the city’s incredible view. But the night views, especially, are breathtaking. The N Seoul Tower also lights up once the sun goes down, so you definitely don’t want to miss it. There is a small admission of fee to get in (adult \9000 children \7000) but sometimes there are coupons online so try searching for those if you want to get a discount.

2.     Try hot Korean street snacks

If you’ve ever watched a Korean Drama, you’ve most likely seen a scene in where the actor/actresses are eating at a food stand looking like the happiest people on earth. I’m sure that scene probably made you wish you were them at that moment! Korea is definitely known for their street food stands and night markets that run all night long. Among those stands, you can find famous street snacks like ddokbokgi (spicy rice cake), O-deng(fish cake), mandu(dumpling) and a ton of other food. These stands are not only crowded in one specific area but are quite commonly spread out throughout the city and, especially, easy to find in busy areas. Not only is the food delicious but the hot fish cake broth (which is complimentary when purchasing any food item) will warm you right up in the cold weather!

3.     Go Ice skating at Seoul Square

Ice skating is very popular to Seoulites during the winter. There are a few different locations to go to, but one of the biggest is at Seoul Square which opens late December to February, in the heart of Seoul. It’s a very popular spot not only for the locals but the tourists as well. The best part is that it only costs \1000, so it’s definitely a bargain and an exciting activity you might want to include in your list of things to do.

4.     Check out the Christmas Concerts featuring your favorite Kpop idols

Are you a fan of K-pop? Or have a particular favorite idol? If so, great news, you are in the motherland of K-pop. There are a lot of Christmas/holiday concerts happening during the winter. And what better way to enjoy your favorite idol’s music with your fellow fans? Might make a friend or two! You just need to check each concert’s schedule and book the tickets in advance.

5.     Shop till you drop

You probably already have shopping on the list of things to do in Korea. But among a lot of things to buy along with Korean skin care and makeup, what I recommend, is to buy winter gears such as mitts, gloves and hats. Not only are they mad cheap, but also can find good quality ones with the cutest designs. They could also be a good gift to bring back home (if you live in a cold area) Another great item to look out for are outer wears. They also have a variety of trendy winter jackets and coats that they offer for a pretty reasonable price. So, make sure to keep an eye on those as well!

6.     Visit MBC world to take pictures

MBC is one of Korea’s largest broadcasting company. This place offers many different sections of activities and entertainment such as K-drama experience room, broadcasting room as well as holograms of k-pop stars and etcetera. This is the perfect place to be taking pictures and selfies! One tour takes roughly about 90 minutes and admission is \18000 for adults and \9000 for children.
